The challenge

User feedback showed confusion about the product’s target experience level and unclear calls to action. Membership plans also caused uncertainty around features and payment. Our challenge was to create clear, concise storytelling to make the product and pricing easy to understand.

The outcome

After resolving issues from the heuristic analysis, we collaborated with the client and development lead to confirm feasibility. Implemented improvements led to increased conversion rates, with surveys showing users now find pricing and payment methods clear.

The process:

Metrics and user feedback

We began by organizing work sessions to align with the client on our process and emphasize close collaboration. Using client metrics and user feedback, we conducted a heuristic analysis of the website and membership product. Each pain point was linked to relevant heuristics to diagnose user frustrations, supported by examples from other products with better solutions.

State users’ and business needs and problems:

Aulart initially appears designed for professionals, but it actually benefits users of all experience levels—even those new to music production.

Some terms confuse users about available features, and the benefits of membership aren’t immediately clear.

Membership offers a wide range of content, which can overwhelm users. Pricing is confusing, especially the monthly payment option tied to an annual commitment, causing hesitation in decision-making.

In pursuit of consistency: the UI Kit

The color palette, bold typography, and simple buttons formed a scalable UI kit. Components were developed closely with the engineering team to ensure a visually appealing and technically feasible solution.

Conclusion and next steps

Aulart’s diverse audience—beginners to advanced users—makes it challenging to deliver clear messaging for all. Using targeted keywords and concise comparisons has improved content organization. Going forward, we’ll leverage quantitative and qualitative data, especially feedback from renewing members, to refine clarity around content and pricing for continuous improvement.
