Salucity - Bringing healthcare professionals and users together
Salucity allows users to book online, in-person, or at-home appointments with nearby healthcare specialists and doctors. It started as a website, and thanks to its success, we’ve developed a native app to offer better features and further grow the platform.

The challenge
The challenge was encouraging active users to switch from the website to the app naturally, without forcing downloads. Since the platform was already active, the app needed to complement the website smoothly. Research showed users highly value syncing the app with their phone’s native calendar to avoid switching between apps.
The outcome
The MVP launch received strong positive feedback. Users recognized the app as a valuable tool, particularly appreciating the ability to manage all their tasks in one place and the timely notifications and alerts for appointments.

The process:
Gather insights from web users
We gathered user insights on desired app features. Patients want to browse professionals without registering; 91% value verified reviews, and 74% would use the service for others, often elderly. Professionals need quick access to appointment summaries, calendar integration, and the ability to block unavailable time slots.

We designed a fast, straightforward user flow
Registration is optional. The search lets users sort results by proximity, price, or availability. Both users and professionals can easily view upcoming, past, and canceled appointments. We designed an offer-and-response system to streamline scheduling within the platform, removing the need for informal chats or calls.

New user tests revealed these key insights
Users find the app really useful and like managing everything in one place, plus getting reminders about their appointments.
Professionals acknowledge that appointment management may demand additional effort but appreciate the app’s intuitive interface and straightforward workflow for handling inquiries and scheduling.
Users would like to pay with Apple or Google Pay, enabling the entire process to be completed within the app.
Building the design system
I developed the design system to provide consistent, scalable UI components across mobile and web platforms. This ensures a seamless, cohesive user experience and enables teams to build and iterate efficiently across all touchpoints.

Conclusion and next steps
Users want an all-in-one solution—using separate apps to find professionals, manage calendars, and make payments is no longer acceptable. We are working to integrate these key functions for a seamless, complete experience. Research has been key to understanding user needs and exploring ideas they suggested, such as managing appointments for an elderly person without requiring them to have their own account.
